| Snow Baby belongs in A Class and I have elected to design her on the large side of the restrictions. She is 11 feet 5 inches long over all; 11 feet on the water line; 4 feet 7 inches breadth (55 inches) ; and has a hull depth of 1 foot 6 inches. The freeboard at the bow is 1 foot 7 3/4 inches, least freeboard 1 foot 1 inch, stern 1 foot 3 inches. Sail area is 70 square feet. | |

| The rig shown has short spars and is without complication. Gunther is its correct name. The sprit is hauled aloft on a single halliard. This reeves through a sheave in the mast head. The inboard end of the boom must be restrained from sliding up the mast for otherwise it would be impossible to haul the sprit taut and standing. I have indicated a tack rope for this purpose. Use two rope strops around the mast rather than hoops. The main sheet is a single part leading from the boom to the helmsman's hand; never make fast the sheets of a small centerboard boat. There are neither shrouds nor head stays. These are a snare and delusion on a small boat. The simpler things are the better. | |

| The construction is after the manner of most small craft of this kind. I have been generous with the size of the scantlings believing that a little weight has value. | |
